The Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Abdelkarim Aouissi, received today, Sunday, at the Ministry’s headquarters, Vanessa Vega Saines, the Danish Ambassador to Algeria.
The talks between the two parties focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of energy, especially hydrocarbons, new and renewable energies and the energy transition in Algeria.
The two sides also discussed business and investment opportunities and ways and means of exchanging experiences between the two countries, especially with regard to developing renewable energies and integrating them into the electrical grid.
On this occasion, the Secretary-General gave an overview of the strategy for the development of the energy and mining sector, especially in the field of intensifying the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons, as well as in the field of developing the renewable energy sector in Algeria, similar to the Sonelgaz project to produce 2,000 megawatts of solar photovoltaic energy.
It was also agreed to draw up a roadmap for cooperation between the two countries in the energy field, with meetings to be held between the Danish energy company and sector institutions in this field.
