Under the directives of the President of the Republic, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Ataf, received today at the Ministry’s headquarters, Drissa Souadogo, Special Adviser to the President of the Transitional Period in the Republic of Burkina Faso, who is on a working visit to Algeria as a Special Envoy.
On this occasion, Ahmed Ataf received from his guest a written message addressed to the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, by the Transitional President of the Republic of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore.
The meeting constituted an opportunity to review the bilateral relations between Algeria and Burkina Faso and prospects for strengthening them by creating favorable conditions to inaugurate a new era of economic cooperation and political coordination between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed developments in the situation at the regional level, especially the security situation in the Sahel desert region.
In this context, the two parties dealt with the Western Sahara file in all its aspects as a decolonization issue that must be resolved on the basis of enabling the Sahrawi people to effectively enjoy their inalienable or imprescriptible right to self-determination and independence.
