The work of the 17th Conference of the Councils of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation continues at the level of the Algerian Dialogue Committees

Today, Friday, at the International Conference Center “Abdul Latif Rahal”, the work of the 17th Conference of the Councils of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation continues at the committee level.
The works are represented in the ninth meeting of the Specialized Standing Committee on Political Affairs and Foreign Relations, the ninth meeting of the Committee on Human Rights, Women and the Family and the consultative meeting of the African Group.

The work of the preparatory meetings for the 17th session of the Conference of the Union of Councils of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation began at the committee level, with the presence of more than 35 parliamentary delegations, on Thursday in Algiers.

It is expected that the meetings will constitute a platform from which joint action unifies the efforts of the Islamic world, to occupy the position that befits it as a global power, “especially in light of the current geopolitical and economic conditions that are dominated by instability and the ferocity of the struggle for hegemony.”

Last March, Algeria hosted the 47th meeting of the Executive Committee of the Union of Councils of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which stressed the need to strengthen cohesion among the countries of the Islamic world to confront the current international situation.

The meeting touched on a number of issues, most notably the Muslim minorities in the world, the Palestinian issue and the crisis in Libya.
