This is what the Algerian Organization for Consumer Protection said about the prices of Italian “Fiat” cars – Al-Hiwar Algeria

The Algerian Organization for Consumer Protection announced today, Sunday, its position on the prices of the Italian brand Fiat.

The organization said in a statement: The prices that were announced today at a press conference for the FIAT brand, which the Algerian Organization for Consumer Protection was absent from, are surprising and unexpected prices for many of the public, especially since these prices may be a reference for other brands.
Also, the price of the Fiat 500 car, which surprised many, and that it is like a youth car that is dominated by the character of space and relaxation, we do not consider it a standard or a fixed reference … In any case, the prices that were previously for cars in our weekly markets at 350 and 400 million have become a thing of the past. We would have liked the price of used cars to drop more than it is now to open the way for average families with a comfortable opportunity to earn a car.
Within the framework of our consultation and follow-up on the import file, the Ministry of Industry previously stated that prices will only be according to the cost, and this is what we expect the brand to clarify as soon as possible, with full transparency and integrity, and with clear numbers.
The higher authorities in the country have intervened to solve the car file in order to satisfy the needs of the Algerian consumer, and we will not ask the dealers except to set legitimate and fair prices in line with the privileges granted by the public authorities, and their entry into the national market is the biggest concession since it is now free of any competition and the demand is millions for vehicles.
We also request the concerned sectors to expedite the granting of final approvals to dealers who meet the conditions to create real competition, especially for the entry of Asian cars.
