To direct investment in medical nuclear technologies and applications

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, supervised today, Sunday, at the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the installation of the intersectoral working group tasked with developing a roadmap to guide investment in nuclear technologies and applications for medical use.
The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of ladies and gentlemen, members of the work team, representatives of sectors, energy and mines, health, higher education and scientific research, industry and pharmaceutical production, and the Atomic Energy Governorate.
The working group is tasked, as of today, with preparing and presenting a concrete action plan that will allow for a broader, safer and more effective use of nuclear technologies and applications in the field of cancer control, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine.
As a reminder, and in implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during his presidency of the Cabinet meeting, on Sunday, February 5, 2023, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, the Minister of Health, Abdelhak Sayhi, the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry Ali Aoun, and the Minister of Education held Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Badari, on February 26, 2023, at the level of the Atomic Energy Governorate, a coordination meeting regarding accelerating the development of nuclear applications in the field of health, as well as the uses of nuclear energy technologies in combating cancer, radiation therapy and nuclear medicine.
