Tomorrow, the globe will witness a semi-shadow eclipse of the moon

Tomorrow, Friday, May 5, 2023, the Earth will witness the phenomenon of a lunar eclipse, which is the first eclipse phenomenon during the year 2023; It is likely to affect separate parts of the globe.

It will cover approximately 96.4% of the lunar surface, as it can be seen in southern and eastern Europe, Australia, most of Asia, Africa and the Indian Ocean, and all phases of the eclipse from beginning to end take about four hours and eighteen minutes.
The occurrence of the eclipse phenomenon will coincide with the timing of the full moon of the month of Shawwal for the year 1444 AH, and the semi-shadow area of the earth covers approximately 96.4% of the moon’s surface.

It is noteworthy that the phenomenon of solar and lunar eclipses are used as controls for the Hijri calendar, and to ascertain the beginnings and ends of the lunar or Hijri months, as these phenomena clearly reflect the movement of the moon around the earth, and the movement of the earth around the sun.

And on the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, she said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: ((The sun and the moon are two signs of God, they are not eclipsed by the death or life of anyone, so if you see that, then supplicate to God, and say “Allah is the Greatest” and give alms)).

It is desirable when it occurs, remembrance of God Almighty, supplication, seeking forgiveness, charity, and drawing near to God Almighty as much as possible.
