23 people died and 1,573 others were injured as a result of traffic accidents in several states of the country within a week, according to what came today, Tuesday, according to a report by the General Directorate of Civil Protection.
The same source explained that “the heaviest death toll recorded in the state of Tamanrasset, with 07 people dead at the scene and 02 others injured, as a result of 05 traffic accidents.”
In the same context, the civil protection units carried out, during the same period from 18 to 24 June, “1722 interventions to extinguish 1155 fires, including domestic, industrial and various fires, the most important of which were recorded in the state of Algiers (88 fires), Tlemcen (60 fires)
and Annaba (56 fires).
The same interests also carried out, in the field of various operations, “6,760 interventions during the same period in order to save 529 people in danger and cover 5,936 ambulance operations.”
With regard to health evacuations, the Civil Protection Units carried out 13,607 interventions, during which 13,357 wounded and sick people were treated and evacuated to hospitals.
