Zagdar stresses the necessity of integrating economic intelligence into economic institutions – the Algerian dialogue

Today, Saturday, the Minister of Industry, Ahmed Zagdar, stressed the need to integrate economic intelligence into economic institutions, because of this important role in directing their strategic decisions in a circumstance in which the national economy and the global economy face great challenges as a result of geopolitical and geoeconomic developments.

During his supervision of the opening of the Second International Symposium on Economic Intelligence, the important role played by this position in directing strategic decisions and building the appropriate perception that serves appropriate decision-making and the adoption of the most effective solutions.

He stressed the importance of integrating economic intelligence within the tasks of productive economic institutions to strengthen their resilience and competitiveness, and thus ensure their sustainability.

In this regard, he said, “In recent years, we have realized the difficulty of accessing important and correct information, especially that which is considered an important factor in strengthening the existence and sustainability of economic institutions, which requires them to pursue all means and take the necessary measures to confront the current situation, which is characterized by fierce competition and requires accreditation.” On economic inquiry based on effective strategic vigilance, information preservation and the application of influence in decision-making.

Accordingly, the minister adds, the application of the economic intelligence system requires institutions to have vigilant systems supported by an effective information system that allows them to identify opportunities and threats in order to make the appropriate decision in a timely manner.

Accompanying industrial enterprises in the inclusion of the economic intelligence function

In order to accompany economic and industrial institutions in integrating this function, the Minister announced the preparation of three publications related to the White Book of Economic Intelligence, which defines the strategy of the sector during the next five years, the guide to establishing economic intelligence that allows accompanying institutions and organizations to create their own structures, the training guide in economic intelligence that allows users to Gain initial skills and qualifications required by the various activities of economic intelligence.

These publications will be made available to all interested parties through the Ministry’s website.

Zagdar also referred to the formation of a working group consisting of central executives and others belonging to some public industrial complexes to supervise the operations of establishing strategic vigilance cells at the level of the complexes.

So far, cells have been established at the level of the two public complexes “Agrodev” and “JICA”, provided that this experience is generalized at the level of all the complexes as a first stage, and then at the level of all institutions and agencies.

The implementation of this strategy requires the provision of a high level of competencies and capabilities in order to control the method of obtaining accurate and correct economic information and how to process it for use in the interest of the institution, and therefore it has become necessary to mobilize all actors to face these challenges.

In this context, the minister referred to the formation of more than 200 executives of industrial complexes, bodies under the tutelage and central administration.
