10 billion dollars in targeted trade between Algeria and Turkey – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

The Turkish Ambassador to Algeria, Mrs. Mahienour Ozdemir Goktas, affirmed yesterday, Monday, that the cooperation relations between Algeria and Turkey have intensified in recent years, noting the need to further strengthen the partnership between the two countries in all fields.

In a press statement after being received by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, after the end of her mission in Algeria, the Turkish ambassador explained that the cooperation relations between the two countries had recorded “positive results” thanks to high-level visits, including the visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Algeria and the visit of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Turkey.

She pointed out that these visits witnessed the signing of several “important and strategic” agreements, expressing her hope to further strengthen bilateral relations.

On the other hand, the Turkish diplomacy indicated that there are about 1,560 Turkish companies in Algeria, compared to only 900 in January 2020, stressing that the volume of trade exchange has also increased significantly, from $3.3 billion to $5 billion now, with the hope of achieving 10. billions of dollars in the near future.

Mrs. Göktash confirmed that she was “very honored” to receive a “worthy” medal from the Medal of National Merit awarded to her by President Tebboune.

And she added, “It was a surprise for me, as it is the first time in the history of Algeria that an ambassador receives this medal. This really confirms the friendship and brotherhood that unites Algeria and Turkey and all the work that has been done by the two countries.

“I very much thank President Tebboune, the government and the Algerian people for their friendship and brotherhood,” she continued, adding: “For me, Algeria is more than just a friend and brotherly country, it is a country in which I established many human and social relations. I really carry Algeria in my heart as I leave it.”
