A twinning and friendship agreement between the state of Boujdour and cities in the Italian province of Parma – Al-Hiwar, Algeria

The state of Boujdour, in the Sahrawi refugee camps, signed, yesterday, Friday, a twinning and friendship agreement, with cities from the Italian province of Parma, during the works of the second symposium of twins hosted by the city of Bologna, as reported by the Sahrawi Press Agency.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the state of Bojdour, Sunni Bashir Abd al-Rahman, representative of the Polisario Front in Sweden and Norway on behalf of the governor of the state of Bojdour, and on the Italian side, Bredi Serena, a councilor in the municipality of Bedonia from the province of Parma.
The signing ceremony was attended by the representative of the Polisario Front in the European Union and European institutions, Mansour Omar, the representative of the Polisario Front in Italy, Fatima Hefzala Sidi Allal, and on the Italian side, Aimee Pettitti, President of the Parliament of the Emilia-Romagna region.
In her speech on behalf of the governor, Al-Sunniyya Al-Bashir made it clear that the citizens and authorities of Boujdour state are happy with this agreement, which reflects the extent of solidarity with the Sahrawi people and their just cause.
She mentioned the existing state institutions in the refugee camps, including educational and health institutions, “reflecting the interest of the Sahrawi Republic in building the human being first and in the social sectors as a right of citizens, as is the case in the independent countries of the world, which is the challenge raised by the Sahrawi Republic since its inception, despite the conditions of occupation and asylum and the lack of Possibilities”.
On this occasion, many Italian provincial cities renewed the twinning agreements, with the presence of mayors and councilors of many municipalities for this signing ceremony.
For her part, the Speaker of the Parliament of Emilia-Romagna, Aimee Pettitti, renewed her support for the Sahrawi people and their just cause, calling on the international community to implement international legitimacy in Western Sahara.
Mrs. Petiti explained in her speech that her presence at this solidarity event expresses her support for the just cause of the Sahrawi people.
The Speaker of the Emilia-Romagna Parliament renewed her call on the international community to work seriously to resolve the Sahrawi issue, by encouraging international legitimacy and applying the right to self-determination, noting that justice must be achieved everywhere in the world with the same ethical standards.
And she followed that her region renewed support for the struggle of the Sahrawis with cooperation projects, linking many cities and municipalities in the region with institutions, states and departments of the Sahrawi Republic. .
The Italian official, whose region hosted the second edition of the friendship and twinning symposium, expressed her happiness at the presence of the Sahrawi “messengers of peace” in the cities of Emilia-Romagna.
In turn, Mansour Omar, a member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front in charge of the European Union and European institutions, expressed his condemnation of the complicity of European countries with the Moroccan occupation and encouraged him to evade his international obligations.
During his intervention, the spokesman explained that Morocco recognized in 1991 the right of the Sahrawis to self-determination under the pressure of its defeat militarily and diplomatically in all arenas and fronts, but – the Sahrawi official added – “later renounced all its international obligations that it signed, with unfortunately encouragement from European countries and the lack of seriousness of the international community.” “.
The diplomat added that many European countries signed fishing agreements with the occupation “in the waters of a region that has not yet undergone decolonization, which is unfortunate and had a great influence in encouraging the occupying state to despise the international community, including the Europeans themselves, when it evaded the most important principles in which it believes.” These countries openly call for their implementation.
He pointed out that “this contradicts, in a flagrant and unacceptable manner, the decision of the European Court of Justice of the same judicial body, which ruled that fishing in desert waters is illegal, and those who violated the decisions of their court should be ashamed of themselves.”
