Algeria-Qatar… distinguished fraternal relations and a common will to consolidate cooperation

Algeria and Qatar have distinguished fraternal relations, marked by constant communication and consultation in various Arab, regional and international files and issues, and they are candidates to rise to the highest ranks on the occasion of the working visit of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to this brotherly country.
Bilateral relations between Algeria and Qatar have witnessed great development in recent years, as an embodiment of a common will between the leaders of the two brotherly countries to advance them to the highest ranks.
The series of meetings, bilateral contacts and consultations between the President of the Republic and his brother, the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as mutual visits contributed to strengthening and expanding these relations.
President Tebboune’s visit to the State of Qatar in February 2022 was an important station for moving the level of relations between the two countries to the stage of a promising strategic partnership. This visit also drew a new dimension to the relations between the two countries based on mutual trust.
In turn, the visit of the Emir of the State of Qatar to Algeria in February 2020 contributed to the consolidation of cooperation between the two countries at all levels, especially at the economic and investment levels, which witnessed growth at all levels.
President Tebboune described on several occasions the Algerian-Qatari relations as fraternal and kind, and the Emir of the State of Qatar, for his part, appreciated Algeria’s regional and Arab role and its honorable history in resolving many conflicts.
During the year 2022, the two countries made great strides in the process of joint work and raising the level of cooperation in various fields, translated by the signing of several memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements, including an agreement related to the establishment of political consultations and coordination between the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries and an agreement related to legal and judicial cooperation, in addition to other agreements and memorandums in The sectors of tourism and industry, health and higher education, in addition to the launch of an air link between Algeria and Doha in the summer of 2022, the construction project of the Algerian-Qatari-German hospital, and the expansion of the Algerian-Qatari iron and steel company complex in Bellara, Jijel Province.
In this regard, the two sides recorded their satisfaction with the bilateral consultation and coordination, and their aspiration to strengthen them at all levels, in addition to affirming the existence of complete agreement regarding various files, especially issues related to the Arab world and international and regional affairs, and coordinating their positions in a way that enhances security and stability in the world.
In this context, the positions of Algeria and Qatar coincide on the need to formulate peaceful solutions to crises and encourage work to establish balanced international relations that are governed by the Charter of the United Nations and its established principles.
Algeria and Qatar also stress the importance of upholding the values ​​of unity and solidarity among the Arab countries in order to overcome the various current crises. In the same regard, they agree to support and strengthen frameworks and mechanisms for joint Arab action.
