Busquets: We deserved to win – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

Spain captain Sergio Busquets confirmed that his country deserved to qualify at the expense of Morocco in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Spain bid farewell to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, after being defeated by Morocco on penalties after a draw in the original and extra time without goals.

“We wanted to qualify for the quarter-finals, and I think we deserved to qualify,” Busquets said in televised comments after the match.

He added, “It was a difficult match, it was difficult to penetrate their defenses, but we were able to threaten their goal.”

And he added, “We came out harshly, and we found many difficulties, but we found spaces in the extra runs. We needed to reconcile in some moments.”

And he added, “It’s true, we always find it very difficult when we get to penalties, we missed the first 3 kicks, it was difficult.”

And he concluded, “We lived through a difficult, complex and harsh night. We have to get up and think about the future. We have promising players and we must continue.”
