Hokkar oversees the inauguration of the African Forum for Directors of Training Institutions in the Field of Oil and Gas – Al-Hiwar, Algeria

The President and Director General of Sonatrach, Toufic Hokkar, supervised today the official opening of the activities of the Forum of Directors of Training Institutions in the field of oil and gas, in its first edition for the member states of the African Petroleum Producing Organization, which was hosted by the Algerian Institute of Petroleum of Sonatrach in the state of Skikda on June 21 and 22, 2023.

This forum aims to enhance partnership and cooperation between institutions, especially in the field of training and competency development.

It is worth recalling that the organization of the activities of this forum came after the field visits carried out by the Secretariat of the African Organization of Petroleum Producing Countries at the level of training and research institutes of some member states, during which the Algerian Institute of Petroleum was chosen for its pivotal role and the outcome of the experiences and expertise it gained in the field of training and development. competencies at the level of the African continent and other countries.

The forum was attended by the Secretary-General of the African Organization of Petroleum Producing Countries, accompanied by members of the secretariat, in addition to the directors of training institutions in the field of oil and gas representing eighteen (18) member states.

Before its launch, the forum witnessed the inauguration of the new lecture hall of the Algerian Institute of Petroleum in Skikda School by the President and Director General of Sonatrach, Mr. Toufic Hakkar, accompanied by the Secretary General of the organization, which was named after the former director of the Algerian Institute of Petroleum affiliated to the state of Skikda and the representative of Algeria to the late African Organization of Petroleum Producing Countries “Mohamed Al-Taher Akrideh”, and this hall is another building block added to the institute’s edifice.
