Today, Thursday, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, accompanied by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Emerging Enterprises and Small Enterprises, and the President and General Manager of the Sonelgaz Complex, supervised the signing ceremony of a partnership and cooperation agreement in research, development and innovation. Between the Scientific and Technical Research Center in Physical and Chemical Analyzes and the Research Center in Energy Semiconductor Technology, and the Algerian Electricity and Gas Company, Sonelgaz.
The agreement is for the development of new and innovative technological solutions to reduce the phenomenon of suffocation in burning gases (carbon monoxide) inside homes, as well as to reduce accidents resulting from gas leakage.
On this occasion, the Minister of Energy and Mines affirmed that this initiative aims to strengthen the local industry for gas leak detection devices and to value the research results that have been developed in this field, through a bridge of cooperation between the economic sector and the scientific research sector, in the interest of the public interest.
The minister indicated that, according to the decision of the President of the Republic, in the last ministerial council, Sonelgaz was mandated to equip all citizens’ homes with a carbon monoxide detector on an urgent basis. High added value in serving the national economy.
