Omar Belhaj in Istanbul to participate in the founding conference of the constitutional judiciary bodies of the Algerian Organization of the Islamic Conference – Dialogue

The President of the Constitutional Court, Omar Belhaj, will participate, starting today, Thursday in Istanbul, in the founding conference of the Conference of Constitutional Judicial Bodies of the Member States of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.

A statement by the Constitutional Court stated that this participation comes at the invitation of the President of the Turkish Constitutional Court, Zohto Arslan, adding that Mr. Belhaj will be accompanied during his participation in this conference by the two members of the Constitutional Court, Jilali Melody and Muhammad Boutarfas.

The Conference of Constitutional Judicial Bodies of the OIC Member States is an independent forum for the exchange of knowledge and experiences among the highest judicial and constitutional bodies of the aforementioned OIC member states on issues related to constitutional issues and constitutional jurisprudence in order to promote the rule of law, democracy and human rights.

The idea of ​​establishing this space is due to an initiative of the Turkish Constitutional Court, through the formation of a working group comprising Algeria, Turkey, Indonesia, Pakistan and Gambia, through which the Algerian Constitutional Court effectively contributed to enriching the draft statute of the conference.
