Outcome: The arrest of 3 elements of support for terrorist groups and the seizure of quantities of Moroccan kif

In the context of the continuous efforts exerted in the fight against terrorism and against organized crime in all its forms, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 12 to 18 July 2023, several operations that yielded qualitative results that reflect the extent of the high professionalism, vigilance and constant readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory:

Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the exploitation of information, detachments of People’s National Army arrested (03) elements supporting terrorist groups during separate operations.

Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuation of the relentless efforts aimed at combating the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of People’s National Army, in coordination with the various security services, stopped during operations across the military regions (58) drug dealers and thwarted attempts to bring two (02) quintals and (98) kilograms of treated kif across the border with Morocco, while (274,192) hallucinogenic tablets were seized.

In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and Djanet, detachments of People’s National Army arrested (315) people and seized (21) vehicles, (252) electric generators, (99) hammers and two (02) metal detectors, in addition to quantities of explosives, detonating equipment and equipment used in illegal gold exploration operations, while (04) other persons were arrested and (04) hunting rifles and quantities of foodstuff destined for smuggling and speculators were seized. It is estimated at (66) tons, and this was during separate operations across the national territory. Border guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs, thwarted attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel estimated at (17,187) liters in Tamanrasset, Tebessa, Souk Ahras, and El Tarf.

On the other hand, coast guards thwarted illegal immigration attempts on our national coasts and rescued (47) people who were aboard traditionally made boats, while (346) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
