A delegation of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship “Algeria-Austria” met today, Wednesday in the capital “Vienna”, with their counterparts in the Austrian National Council.
Ahmed Meshaqq, head of the delegation, touched on the reality of the relations between the two countries and reviewed, by the way, ways to promote cooperation between them, especially in the fields of energy and railway transport.
After that. Meshchaq reviewed a number of files on the international scene, starting with a brief explanation of Algeria’s approach. To solve the problem of illegal immigration.
Turning to the situation in the Middle East, Meshchaq renewed Algeria’s adherence to supporting the Palestinian cause, denouncing the policy of double standards in resolving it.
As for the Sahrawi issue, the head of the delegation affirmed that Algeria is not a party to this conflict and that it supports the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy.
In the same context, Meshaqq highlighted Algeria’s adherence, in its foreign policy, to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of states and its keenness to respect its sovereignty, and continued, stressing that Algeria is pursuing means of dialogue to resolve crises.
After that, the Algerian delegation toured the headquarters of the Austrian Council, and also attended part of the work of a plenary session held during that time.
It is noteworthy that all these activities took place in the presence of the ambassadors of the two countries.
It is also worth noting that the delegation of the National People’s Assembly arrived yesterday, Tuesday, in the Republic of Austria, within the framework of a three-day bilateral visit.
