The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohamed Abdel Hafeez Hani, revealed that it will soon start planting argan trees across a number of states of the country.
During his supervision of the closing of the activities of the National Citrus Salon, accompanied by the Minister of Trade, Kamal Rizik, Hani confirmed the start “soon” of planting argan trees across each of the governorates of Tindouf, Bechar, El Bayadh, Naama, and Mostaganem. and Chlef, to be “circulated in the future across other states,” he said.
The minister referred to the agreement with an Algerian-Italian institution specialized in the production of seedlings in a modern way to produce the sufficient quantity of seedlings needed for this process.
The Minister of Agriculture added that the planting of argan trees falls within the framework of “the ambitious project aimed at producing argan oil, which is characterized by its high economic value,” noting that “the natural area for planting this type of tree is located in Tindouf.”
