The Minister of Culture hands over a rare copy of the Ottoman Qur’an to the sheikh of Al-Zawiya Al-Bakriya in Tantit and notables from the state of Adrar

The Minister of Culture and Arts, Dr. Maulouji Souriyeh, handed over the rare copy of the Ottoman Qur’an to the sheikh of Al-Zawiya Al-Bakriya in Tantit and notables from the state of Adrar, after it was restored by experts from the National Library and the National Center for Manuscripts.

The manuscript is a Qur’an whose copy dates back to the year 727 AH corresponding to 1349 AD, and it has been restored according to the latest approved scientific methods. This work falls within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Culture and Arts aimed at taking care of manuscripts and rare historical documents that are held by many treasuries across the country. It also reflects the keenness of the Minister of Culture and Arts, Dr. Souriya Mollouji, to restore consideration to our documentary heritage, as well as the manuscripts that are available in our libraries and treasuries. Its directives to the interests of the National Library and the National Center for Manuscripts to take care of and restore it.
